The Joro spider is an invasive species that first came to the US from Japan in 2013, and is most commonly seen in Georgia. Today researchers consider theses spiders endemic.
Cold Survival
Researches have found these spiders to survive colder temperatures than local spiders due to their faster heart-beat.
Population Growth
After mating, the female spins an egg sack on a tree, laying 400 to 1500 eggs in one sack.

The Joro Spider is spreading widely across Georgia and researches have now deemed them endemic to our region. The population has ballooned out of control in 2021 and currently this spider has no counter part to help balance its population. There are few pests such as Mud Daubers that eat spiders and can help to combat the Joro but as of now there is no further studies suggesting control of population.

There are many mosquitoes species in Georgia and none of which are to be taken lightly. Mosquitoes can contain viruses such as Encephalitis and Zika to name a few. Not only can they be extremely harmful and irritating as a pest but they can also give our pets Heart-Worm disease. After inspection and diagnoses of your property, 1up will treat all harborage areas for mosquitoes and Joros. This treatment is fogged over your property and will kill the affected pest on contact.

Any breeding mosquito sites (water collecting in puddles, containers, etc.) will either be eliminated by our technician emptying the water source or applying an IGR (insect growth regulator) to prevent the larva from growing into adults.

Most webbing within reach, will be knocked down around your property, particularly the webs closes to your home. Taking down these webs can contain sacks full of eggs that can prevent a new round of Joro spiders. Plus, no one wants a face-full of webs first thing in the morning.

Once initial treatment has been applied we will follow-up with a monthly service from March-October to keep control of these populations on your property. These services are month-to-month, meaning no contract. We are tentative to detail in our treatments but should you ever have any additional pest treatments caused by inclement weather or to enjoy a family BBQ, etc... Extra Services are always FREE.
